Jay Nackashi moved to Athens, Georgia in 1995 to live and work as an artist, designer, builder and musician. His experience with carpentry has involved everything from building, restoring and remodeling homes, to musical instrument construction and innovation.

Music & Exploration

His band Empire State combines Nackashi's invented instruments with conventional ones to create pop melodies and experimental recordings. His art involves painting, sound, and mechanical function, and has been displayed at numerous exhibitions and galleries.

Design

Nackashi's focus on modern furniture has purity in design. This is expressed through his use of square tubular steel and laminate woods. All of his furniture (tables, chairs, beds, etc.) create a comfortable environment with beautiful rational forms.
